On May 31, 2008 parents and children of all ages came out to enjoy the special dedication of the Perry Cubmarine at the South Florida Science Museum in West Palm Beach, Florida. The day began with a presentation by the Naval Sea Cadets, led by Captain Ramirez and Lt. JG Lawrence.

Special award shadowboxes were given to the Cubmarine sponsors including Rick Newman of, Hedrick Brothers Construction of West Palm Beach,
South Palm Automotive, Boca Raton; and SMA Communications.

At the ceremony, a special boy and girl were given the privilege
of joining Captain Ramirez in christening the cubmarine.

Below are pictures of the dedication & christening ceremony.

The undersea education at the museum continued with a special presentation by FAU's Center for Excellence in Ocean Energy Technology engineers, who filled in the audience about the fascinating program to harness the energy of the Gulf Stream providing energy to South Florida. This lecture was followed by a special presentation on ocean resources by the Museum's own Aquarium Curator.

The rest of the day included touch tanks, popcorn and sno-cones, face painting, make-and-take crafts, bounce houses, videos, laser concerts and other ocean-themed events.
